Buying .xxx domains

Has we mentioned back in July, the .xxx extension is now available.

The pre-reservation period is now over. Between September 7th and October 28th, a limited period is opened, called "Sunrise", for registration of .xxx domains. There are two "Sunrises": Sunrise A - for adult industry members - and Sunrise B - for companies that intend to protect their brands, avoiding that brands are associated to the adult industry.

In order to protect your company's intelectual property, you must legally detain the brand register, as well as to present documents that prove it, paying a unique fee to block the domain [brand].xxx permanently. The entire process is explained at the ICM website, the entity responsible for the entire process.

After this period (Sunrise) is over, it may be quite difficult to block these domains, since anyone will be able to register .xxx domains.
