Firefox 4

Mozilla launches today its new browser - the Firefox 4, with the motto "Made to make the Web a better place".

In which way is Plako going to adjust its services to this new browser?

After three intense months of work with the Firefox 4 beta versions, Plako adapted it's cms@plako products to the new browser, so that nothing goes wrong with our partners that use Firefox 4. At Plako we want to be the "top of the game", with up-to-date products and services.

So, what are the advantages of Firefox 4?

Available (free) for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, in over 80 languages, Mozilla promisses to unveil Firefox 4 for Android and Maemo very soon.

The truth is it brings fresh and significant improvements. Mozilla enhances three key elements: new look, new functionalities and, of course, speed.

It is indisputable that Firefox 4 is faster than its predecessors (according to Mozilla, 6 x faster), but this is just one of many changes.

Besides the aesthetic changes (with an important focus on simplicity and accessibility), new functions were added to Firefox, like Browsing Made Easy - it doesn't require the user to insert the full URL, a word is enough to trigger a list of options, according to historic and favourites.

In terms of organization and browsing, Firefox 4 brings some useful news. It's now possible to have App Tabs for the ones you use the most, saving space and time. No more endless tab lists.

Another novelty is Panorama, a function that allows you to group tabs by themes, without the need of having several browsers open - a very useful tool for those who need organization with a click.

At the Firefox 4 website one of the biggest focus is Safety. The new Firefox allows you to check page's identity in just one click, to know if they're safe, to know how many times have you visited and to clean every personal data, as well as enhances to the previous security settings.

Customization is a strong bet of the new Firefox. The user has the power to change the way to browse, with one or two clicks.
