Partnership between Disney and Youtube

Walt Disney Company and YouTube announced a partnership that will lead to the presentation on new exclusive series online.

The deal predicts that 10 to 15 million dolars will be spent to produce original series, especially short films. These movies will be produced by Disney and distributed both by Disney.com and YouTube, begining on early 2012.

YouTube also beneficts from this deal, mainly in terms of the credibility it may gain with parents - several parents do not allow their children to use YouTube freely.

On a statement sent by Disney Interactive, Jimmy Pitaro explains: "With online video consumption exploding and YouTube at the centre of that trend, we see an opportunity for Disney Interactive and You Tube to bring Disney's legacy of storytelling to a new generation of families and Disney enthusiasts on the platform they prefer".

The first video to be produced will be "Where's my water", a story based on a mobile game, whose main character is an alligator named Swampy
